Private Metro
The Rapid Metro Rail Gurgaon (RMRG) is a under construction rapid transit system in the Indian city of Gurgaon, Haryana, linked with Delhi Metro. The system will be India's first privately owned and operated metro and its second awarded public-private partnership metro project after the Hyderabad Metro.
Gurgaon Metro
Rapid Metro Rail Gurgaon Limited has planned to start the metro rail service in Jan 2013 in Millenium City from Sikanderpur Metro Station touching DLF Cybercity ends at Mall of India and Gateway Tower before entering to Delhi.
Starting from Sikanderpur Metro station, the RMG would meander through the posh DLF City (II) and touch Belvedere Park and Towers, DLF Cybercity, National Media Centre, Ambience Lagoon apartments before turning towards DLF SEZ in DLF City III.
DMRC would be the Prime Maintenance Consultant for the project. The civil contract has gone to Maytas Infrastructure that promises to finish its work of erected elevated track within 24 months.
The metro rail service on the New Delhi-Gurgaon route started June 21st, 2010,Monday morning, ending the long wait of commuters for an effective transport system connecting the national capital and its satellite town.
The first metro trains began from Qutub Minar in south Delhi and the HUDA City Centre in Gurgaon simultaneously at 8 am.
Staff of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and some passengers were seen on the 14.47 km stretch metro.
With this, Gurgaon will become the second satellite city to get Metro connectivity after Noida, where it reached last November.
Hyderabad Metro
Hyderabad Metro Rail is all set to bring to the citizens, an international urban transportation experience through its quality-intensive, comfort & safety oriented features. The Project Report, made by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, was the result of an extensive study of the geophysical features of routes, international best practices and economics. The Project is expected to be completed at an estimated cost of .12,132 crore.
Phase-1 of the Project was approved by the Union Government in April 2008 under Public-Private Partnership. The total length of the first-phase after final revision is 71 km.
